OS to Cancun to Xpu-ha

We had left our bike in Xpu-ha with Simon and Lisa for the last two weeks. Eric had a mid week shift which made it impossible to come back the last 5 off. In between rides, we had a visit from a fellow ADVer who had been following our blog. He was passing through Biloxi and we offered him a place to stay. Fun having the company of another moto adventurer. We spent the two days with Chris showing him around town and having a few laughs before he headed onward East and we headed onward South.

We were stoked to board the plane to Cancun, though only two weeks time it felt like forever since we'd last seen the beach. Going down to mexico now feels like going to another home, so familiar and so exciting. We arrived to Cancun around 5:30, caught a bus to Playa del Carmen, and took a taxi to Xpu-ha from there. We didn't bring our camping gear this time since our goal was not to hang out but do a border run this trip, so we checked back into the same hotel room I had stayed in the previous week. It was getting late by the time we settled, so we ran up to the grocery store for supplies, and ordered another pizza for the night. Xpu-ha seemed quiet since we had last been there; Cory and Isabella had gone home, Peter had continued heading south to Belize, and Ken and Carol caught the ferry to Cuba early that morning. Simon and Lisa were in for the night, and the night bar that usually plays cool reggae music until 10-11 had closed early. There were no other campers or hotel guests. It was certainly an eerie feeling, but Eric and I made the most of it by taking advantage of the bar swings for the rest of the night at the closed bar next door. We talked all night and cheersed ourselves to a night spent together, back in Mexico.

Taking the bus instead of the bike is less fun but more comfortable..

 Bright pink sheets, anyone?

This is what happens when you leave your bike on the beach for 2 weeks. Poor bike :(

 Round 2!
