Xpu-ha... again

One last day in Xpu-ha. We were supposed to leave this morning to start heading down towards Belize, but with a semi late wake up and an extra hour drinking coffee with Simon and Lisa held us back more than we thought it would. Eric needed to do some work on the bike today, so he spent 2-3 hours doing that. Actually, he was trying to fix what I had broken. When I was living in Xpu-ha for a week, I had gone to the store to get some groceries and in parking the bike on my return I slipped in the sand and dropped the bike into a tree. The fall wasn't hard any means, but the windshield hit a tree with just enough force to pop off the laminar lip windscreen and bent the original windshield. Eric was trying to fix that, and a headlight that kept going out as well.

Before working on the bike, we took it through a local car wash to get the sand out of the screw holes, etc.

They accidentally got Eric too..

 Much better!

Eric was able to fix the frame and the headlight. Well done Eric! Though, by the time he was done, it was past 3:30. We knew there was no point in packing up and heading out now, so we decided we would leave first thing in the monring. Like I told you before, Xpu-ha has a way of getting you to stay, one way or another! We figured we'd spend one last afternoon swimming at the beach.

We had one last dinner with Simon and Lisa at their place of French bread, brie, pico de gallo, salami, and chicken. For dirnks, Simon and Lisa served a red wine/ coca cola mixture. Sound disgusting? Try it, I dare you.

A lot of laughs with these two, we hope to run into them one day again in the future.
